Project 43 - Omaha

The original Lockwood home, nestled on the dunes of Omaha Beach, was in need of a refreshing update. Our client tasked us with reimagining their kitchen to enhance functionality for their family of five and their guests. As the heart of the home and the central point of key living areas, we repositioned the kitchen island for better flow while preserving the original kitchen’s footprint.

We embraced soft, coastal colors to reflect the surrounding landscape, creating a seamless transition from outside to inside. These hues are complemented by modern appliances, introducing a sleek contrast. The kitchen's raked ceiling inspired us to maximize the sense of spaciousness. We used cabinet fronts with vertical lines, drawing the eye upwards and ensuring overhead cabinets remained practical for storage.

A large gas strut window was added in front of the sink, seamlessly connecting the indoors to the outdoors by incorporating an existing outside benchtop. This feature is perfect for summer evenings, allowing the family to entertain guests seated outside while still being part of the kitchen activities.
